(Flip Frame Pop-up)

I promised I would make a video for that Christmas Wreath card I made recently using just the Flip Frame mechanisms…but instead of just remaking the same card, I though I’d mix it up a little and make a Valentine’s Wreath. It’s still six Flip Frames, arranged slightly differently. This time I recorded most of the making of, which I need to edit then post soon.

The trouble came quickly after I decided on a heart-shaped wreath. What does one put on a Valentine’s wreath - we have plenty of hearts, and love letters, some leaves, and candy hearts that I cut out of pink foam. But a wreath is all about fillers, lots of things to fill up all the space. I had to utilize some products that caught my eye. I’ve had these Tim Holtz chocolates for a while but never used it, it took me a full day just making chocolates, go figure…Then Spellbinders recently came out with chocolate covered strawberries - my favorite! - so gotta have them. The last item was from the Holiday charms set, little teddy bears. (And the rose on the cover was Happy Valentine’s Day Shadow die cut and rolled up/curled).

The cover this time was inspired by Kristina Werner’s video. I used C9’s XOXO turnabout stamp and heat embossed it in gold. Then ink blended the sides in deep shades, eventually brushing in black for the corners.

Inside the card is a pop-up heart shaped wreath made of chocolates, teddy bears and strawberries for Valentines

I like how this wreath turned out, it’s very whimsical and makes me crave for chocolate! It might be too early, we have yet to hit Christmas…but since Valentine’s products are already released, I guess it’s time to use them. And who knows, I’m hoping after seeing the making of both of these wreaths, it might encourage someone else to make their own, with plenty of time till Valentine’s Day!

And I just got to state an obvious observation once again. I certainly never would’ve guessed when I purchased the Flip Frame pop set that it would inspire me to create so many cards. I have created no less than ten cards using this brilliant die. If that’s not an excellent investment I don’t know what is… And I can say the same about a lot of KB’s dies, just truly inspiring.
