(Triple Platform Pop-up)
Continuing my board game series, the leading candidates after Clue and Monopoly were Scrabble, The Game of Life, Risk and Sorry. I had been dead set on making a Scrabble card with the Postage Pop last go around to match the other two cards. But unlike Clue and Monopoly, Scrabble doesn’t offer the various game pieces and tokens to make things that interesting. Its enduring quality comes from little letter tiles, forming words in vertical and horizontal lineups. With the Triple Platform, I see a much better way to create the magic of the game. The hard part was deciding on the words because as they extend out from the pop-up, it needed to neatly match up, plus I wanted it to be a Valentines card.

I somehow remembered the game set came with a sand hourglass timer, and that would’ve given me more to work with. But instead, the typical accessories are racks for the tiles and a cloth/felt bag. Oh well, it’s not my favorite game. I don’t think I’ve ever won a single game before…now that I think about it, I’m quite bad at board games. Maybe I’ll do Risk next, I know I’ve won that game before!
