Ken - Group 55 - Irresistible Inking Technique

The moment I saw the Crocus Craft-a-Flower dies, I knew I wanted to go bold and unapologetically vibrant with my colors. Inspired by the Altenew Educator Certification Program (AECP), I pushed the inking techniques further, pairing gradient effects with a splattering of gold watercolor to create a dynamic background.

To make this card extra special, I used a clear acetate card base, layering the crocuses over the intricate covered die filled with thousand tiny holes. After die cutting (and carefully hand poking) each little square, the design took on a strikingly modern look.

With each flower placed at different depths on this see-through card, the end result is something dimensional and unexpected.

Ken, this is amazing! I saw it in the AECP linky and had to come take a closer look! I love the ink blending on those crocus flowers! And that acetate card base is a brilliant idea! Have you thought about sharing your gorgeous cards in the FaceBook Altenew Fan Group? I'd love to see your work there where it can inspire so many other Altenew afficionados!
